Eula Reese Funkhouser, 86 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral service will be Thursday, February 4, 2:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Will Sanborn officiating. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from noon till 2:00 P.M.

Eula was born March 2, 1923, in Dandridge, Tennessee, to William and Roxie (Lane) Thomas. Eula attended school in Tennessee. In December of 1946, Eula married Henry Reese in Sykesville, Maryland. They moved to the Columbus area in 1947 and Eula went to work at Becton-Dickinson. After Henry passed away, Eula married Jasper Funkhouser in Hyattsville, Maryland in 1979. After Jasper passed away, Eula moved back to Columbus in 1995. Eula enjoyed her bible studies, singing in the choir, gardening, and was a member of the Navy Mothers Club.
