Alice R. Muhle, 86, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the Meridian Gardens in Columbus.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 3, 10:30 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Rev. Aaron Witt officiating. Interment will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 10:15 A.M. Memorials may be directed to Christ Lutheran Church or family choice.

Alice Muhle was born January 29, 1928, in rural David City, Nebraska, to Robert and Rose (Pardubsky) Briza. She was baptized and confirmed on February 12, 1950, at Christ Lutheran Church by Pastor Martin Borneman. Alice attended District # 26 grade school in Butler County, Nebraska, David City High School, Octavia High School, and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1946. Alice was employed as a secretary at the Schuyler Oil Company, later the First National Bank in David City, and also the Linwood Bank in Linwood.

Alice was united in marriage to Duayne Muhle, Sr. on September 22, 1949, at the Methodist Church in Schuyler by Pastor A.W. Clark. They lived their entire life in the Columbus area. Alice was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church since her marriage and served on the Altar Guild, secretary of the PTL, and was a church greeter. Alice's interest included painting the inside and outside of their home, flowers, working in the house and the yard, and cleaning. She enjoyed her family, music, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all very "special" to her. She would accompany her husband Duayne when he flew his planes and rode with him on his motorcycle, and the late afternoon rides with Duayne and their dog "Henna" in the pickup. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family.
