Wilma Ann Kilgore

Wilma A. Kilgore, 94, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Brookstone Acres in Columbus.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held at Gass-Haney Funeral Home on July 10, 2026, from 5-7 PM. Burial will be in Columbus Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family and will be designated in the future to the Paws and Claws animal shelter.

Wilma was born to J. Walter and Martha Eggli Schild southeast of Monroe on March 31, 1932. Wilma graduated from Kramer High School (Columbus) in 1950 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year. She married Glenn D. Kilgore on March 29, 1958, and had two sons David S. Kilgore of Lincoln and Patrick M. Kilgore of Rising City. Prior to marriage, Wilma worked in retail sales and clerical positions at Behlen Mfg. and B-D Mfg. In addition to raising children, she co-managed a row crop farm and registered Angus cattle herd with her husband near Rising City. She moved to Realife of Columbus following her husband’s death in 2016. Wilma enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, visiting with family, and caring for animals. She easily made friends and was well respected.
