Wallace J. Nyffeler, 100, of Duncan, Nebraska, died Friday, January 5, 2024, at Cottonwood House in Columbus, Nebraska.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Lassen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment with military honors will be in Jackson Cemetery in Duncan following the service. Casual dress.
Wallace Julius Nyffeler was born November 19, 1923, in Platte County, Nebraska, to Julius and Lillian (Hegi) Nyffeler. He attended Platte County District 5 grade school and graduated from Kramer High School. During the summers of 1941 and 1942, Wallace worked the wheat harvest in Dix, Nebraska. He served in the United States Navy from June 18, 1943, until his honorable discharge on March 19, 1946. Upon his return home from World War II, Wallace was united in marriage to Imogene Brandt on August 1, 1947, in Kearney, Nebraska. The couple made their home north of Duncan until 1961 when they moved into Duncan. He worked at Columbus Hydraulic for 23 years and served on the Duncan Fire Department for 30 years.

Six Grandchildren
