Scott Ferris, 40, of Monroe, Nebraska, died Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Monroe.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 15 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home. No public services are planned. Memorials are suggested to that of the donor or family choice.

Scott Alan Ferris was born August 3, 1986, in Atkinson, Nebraska, to Delbert and Shirley (Ruther) Ferris. Scott grew up in Monroe, Nebraska, where he attended Monroe Public Schools, where he was active in wrestling and track. He graduated from Twin River High School. Scott entered the United States Navy on May 17, 2005, with his last duty assignment in Groton, Connecticut, at the Naval Submarine School. He was discharged on May 18, 2006.

After returning to Nebraska, Scott attended Central Community College – Columbus Campus, eventually earning associate of applied science degree in Mechatronics Electromechanical. In 2013, he started the process of becoming a Journeyman Electrician. Currently, he has been working for JLL as an electrical maintenance technician working at Becton Dickinson.

He got hooked on reading Lord of the Rings as a kid and loved the genre ever since. Playing video games was his other favorite pastime along with riding motorcycles. He loved Jaydon and Nina with all his heart. Spending time with them was the most important thing in the world.
