Rosean Marie was born December 6, 1957, in Schuyler, Nebraska, to Steven F Navrkal and Opal (Shuster) Navrkal. She was welcomed home by her older brothers, Steven W and Gary. Rosean was a 1976 Clarkson High School Graduate. Rosean married her high school sweetheart, Jack Koehn on July 15, 1978, and settled in to rural Clarkson where they farmed and raised 7 children.
Rosean's hobbies included horticulture, helping on the farm and sewing. Her gardening skills were reflected from her numerous years at Bluebird Nursery. Her vegetable garden only grew over the years and always turned out a tomato crop for canned chili. Her love of flowers was never unnoticed as she always had multiple flower beds surrounding the house and numerous mixed pots. Her help on the farm was limited when raising a large family but she always had time for a chicken coop full of hens and ornate roosters. Many of which her children would show at the county fairs. Finally, her sewing. This was a gift taught to her by her mom that she perfected over the years. Between crafting, Halloween costumes and Czech outfits she had a talent. Her home was filled with so much love at the holidays through the gifts, the food and each decoration that had its own back story or special meaning to her. So many specific decorations that even in the last few years Jack decided they weren't so bad and would question why she didn't have this or that piece up.
Rosean lived to take care of others, that was a natural calling to her and spent every day doing so. She had spent the last 15 years as a stay-at-home mom to her son, Whitaker. She loved the time spent with her grandchildren. Nothing brought more joy to her than seeing her 18 grandchildren come visit and loading them up with the king-sized candy bars and juice boxes. No one left her house hungry and if you did, it was your own fault. She was never in a bad mood when the grandkids came around.
She also enjoyed watching college football and baseball. She held a huge love for the Cornhuskers, Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Yankees, all of which she was able to attend at least one of their games. Her love for the Yankees was doubled by her brother, Steven.
Rosean was able to come home 6 weeks ago after a prolonged battle of sickness through the winter months. In that time home she was surrounded by love, warmth and was never alone. She entered into rest on March 4, 2024, at her home.
