Ronald "Ron" Novak, 81, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus from cancer.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 2:00 PM, at Federated Church with Rev. Dr. Edward Yang officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Interment will be in Columbus Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested as those of the donor's choice.

Ron was born April 23, 1943, to Edward and Clara (Stuefer) Novak.  He graduated from Schuyler High School in 1961 and worked at Becton Dickinson for 37 years before retiring.

Ron is survived by Daryl Smith, his sister Connie Balhorn, nieces and nephews – Stephanie Balhorn, Rachel Tremain, and Kurt (Melissa) Balhorn – along with two great nieces – Amanda (Michael) Westphal and Sarah Katt, as well as two great nephews – Brad Katt and Tyler Katt, and an aunt Betty (LaVern) Nosal.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Clara Novak and brother-in-law Reginald Balhorn.
