On a cold Nebraska evening on February 28, 1944; on a farmstead located between Creighton and Bloomfield; Ronald Richard Greenwall took his first Nebraska breathe, a son born to Richard and Ruby (Cook) Greenwall. Born in a farmhouse built by his grandfather Axel Greenwall; Ron spent his first few years of his life here until the Greenwall family moved to a farmstead 2 miles south. Ron attended Kemma and Fairview - both of which were one room elementary school houses.
Ron was 12 years old when his father passed away; his mother moved with her 3 children to Bloomfield Nebraska. Ronald attended Bloomfield Community Schools; where he engaged and excelled in athletics. Ron also thoroughly enjoyed his years in the vocal music program; especially to note; the JR quartet he was a part of. The quartet earned a #1 rating at their district contest. Ron attended and graduated from Kearney State College. He was an active member of the SIGMA PHI EPSILON as well as a track member in college.
Ron met his wife Cheryl Irish at a track meet. It was a whirlwind love affair which led to their marriage on December 21, 1968. From this unity, Ron and Cheryl raised four children on an acreage North of Columbus. While residing here Ron taught and coached at Lakeview Community Schools.
