Robert E Wurts

Robert E. Wurts, 76, of Albion, Nebraska died Monday, March 23, 2026, at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, Nebraska.

 A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Robert was born in Colorado and raised by his grandparents, Virgil and Gladys Wurts, in Leadville, Colorado. Robert grew up in Leadville and graduated from high school in Leadville. Robert was an over the road truck driver, and later a meat cutter for IBP at the processing plants in Norfolk and Madison. Robert enjoyed trucking, gardening, cooking, loved his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Daughter – Julie (Shane) Austin of Albion, NE
Grandchildren – Colby (Michaela), Lorissa (JP), Tori, Blake, Payton, and Keegan
Daughter – Laurie (Dan) Tierney of Farmersburg, IN
Grandchildren – Mason (Casey), Darby (Cam), Simon, and Lexi
Great Grandchildren – Kash, Thomas, Noah, Ellie, Jayslie, Jonah, Keerah, Kynlee, Kayla, Emma, Connor, Brooks, August, Talia.

Grandparents – Virgil and Gladys Wurts.
