Robert "Bob" Pokorny, 82, of Columbus, Nebraska, died on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 1:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Walker officiating.  Interment with military honors by The American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be from noon until service time on Thursday, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.

Bob was born on November 15, 1942, to Gerald and Lucille (Adams) Pokorny in Schuyler, NE.  Bob grew up in Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School.  Bob served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. Following his military service Bob worked at Wagner Mills in Schuyler, NE.  Bob spent most of his working career at Gehring Concrete, where he drove a truck until his retirement.

Bob was a lover of animals including birds, squirrels, and his beloved dog "Babe".  Bob enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working, and being a general handyman.

Bob is survived by one sister, Nancy Murray, of Oberlin, Kansas.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Lucille Pokorny, sisters Virginia Connely and Geraldine Dean, and brother Jim Pokorny.
