Rita Peach, 72, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, at The Heritage at Meridian Gardens in Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 8, at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Ollie Fullmer officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Friday, from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Friday, at 10:15 AM, at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in New Hope Cemetery in rural Monroe, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.

Rita Joy Peach was born on April 20, 1952, in Columbus, to Louis and Marian (Killion) Zobel. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1970. On December 11, 1976, Rita was united in marriage to Louie Peach in Columbus. She worked as a secretary for Nebraska Public Power District and for Becher Curry Company. Rita was baptized, confirmed, and a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
