Obituary

Phyllis Papstein, 89, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23, at 11:00 AM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Escen officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 9:00 AM until service time, also at the funeral home. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.

Phyllis F. Papstein was born April 27, 1935, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Melvin and Mary Fredia (Plante) Anthoney.  The family moved to California when Phyllis was three.  She attended Chula Vista High School, Chula Vista, California.  She met Arleigh Papstein at a dance and on January 7, 1976, the couple got married.  Phyllis worked in shipping and receiving while living in California.  In 1991 the couple moved to Columbus, Nebraska. She enjoyed camping, cards and games, going on nature rides, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior and was active in every church that she was a member of.

Grandchildren – Eman and Yasmine
Son – Bill Frazier of Norfolk, NE
Grandchildren – Alexis and Alisa
Son – Ronny Frazier of San Diego, CA
Grandchildren – Joshua, Laura, and Taylor
Daughter – Connie (Lonnie) Menke of Columbus, NE
Grandchildren – Jason and Christine
Many Great Grandchildren
Sister – Pat Fields

Parents – Melvin and Mary Anthoney
Husband – Arleigh Papstein
Brother – Bud Anthoney
