Noel Went, 62, of Norfolk, Nebraska, died Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Stanton Health Center, Stanton, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, at 10:00 AM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home, with Rev. Lee Weander officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, and continue Friday from 9:00 AM until service time, all at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Leigh City Cemetery in Leigh, Nebraska following the service.  After the committal all are invited for lunch at Park Place in Leigh.

In lieu of flowers or statues, memorials are suggested to the Leigh Legacy Fund, Leigh Fire and Rescue, or St. Paul Lutheran Church- Leigh.

Noel Arlyn Went was born on December 25, 1963, to Arlyn and Bernice (Hansen) Went, in Leigh, Nebraska. Noel grew up in the Leigh area and graduated from Leigh High School.

Following graduation, Noel allowed himself one day to celebrate and then immediately began his working career. Noel worked for Folken Feed Yard for nine years following graduation. Then on Labor Day 1990, Noel began a 34-year career with Reigle Farms in Madison. Noel believed in the value of hard work and dedicated his career to feeding people. While at Reigle Farms, he ventured into owning cattle of his own. Noel resided in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Over the years, Noel had several interests which included bowling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, golfing trips, country dancing, and socializing with his friends. He especially loved his nieces and nephew and the relationship that they built together. If you know Noel, he was meticulous in caring for his trucks, his lawn, his home, and even his employer's equipment and vehicles. Noel knew that it was important to take care of the things with which he was blessed with. Taking care of things was not limited to possessions, but Noel put priority in his relationships with his friends and family. He had a way with people. His ability to be present with someone built foundations of friendships that will have a lasting impact, probably more than he would have ever known.
