Matthew P. Schumacher, 48, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska.

A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Gass Haney Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior to service.  A  reception and lunch will be held following the service at Wunderlich's Catering.

Matthew P. Schumacher was born on August 22, 1976, in Tilden, Nebraska to Melvin and Shirley (Roberts) Schumacher.  Matthew grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School.  Matthew obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and English from the University of Nebraska.

Matthew enjoyed music, video games, professional wrestling, collecting Fungo Pops and sharing them with his nieces and nephews, and all things Marvel and Superman.  Matthew especially loved his family and friends, and all three of his dogs that he treated like his own children.
