Mary Lou Finkral, 82, of Humphrey, Nebraska, died Monday, November 18, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 22, at 10:30 AM, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, with Father Rodney Kneifl celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM, all at the church. Visitation will continue on Friday, from 9:30 AM until service time, also at the church. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Mary Lou Finkral was born on January 1, 1942, near Cornlea, Nebraska, to Joseph and Clara (Magsman) Preister. She grew up in rural Platte County and graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1959. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Clifford Finkral on August 22, 1959, at Sacred Heart Parish, in Cornlea, Nebraska.  Mary Lou earned her nursing certificate in Norfolk, Nebraska and worked at the nursing home in Newman Grove, Nebraska for a few years. She later went to work at Lindsay Manufacturing and worked there for 25 years.

Mary Lou was a very caring and selfless person, always thinking of others, baking & praying for anyone sick or in need. She also volunteered and coordinated many funeral lunches and was an avid prayer warrior on the prayer line.  She was the best cook and was known for her mashed potatoes and gravy. She enjoyed shopping and looking for a bargain. Mary Lou loved and appreciated the simple things in life. She lived humbly, spoke with kindness, and listened with her heart. Mary Lou's faith and prayer were most important in her life. She was a great inspiration to all, especially to her family.
