Martha "Kaye" Joslyn, 88, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
A memorial service will be held on May 8 at 10:30 AM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Knorr officiating. Kaye was born August 13, 1937, to Ruth and Ernest Garton in Iowa City, Iowa. Kaye attended and played basketball at Cambria Consolidated High School, graduating in 1955. In July of that same year, she married Clair Moore. They moved the family to Columbus, Nebraska in February of 1965. Kaye started working at Torin Products in 1973 in the secondary department, and retired after 32 years in 2005 as a quality control inspector.
Kaye married Duayne (Josh) Joslyn on August 5, 1978. They took great pride in building their home together and vacationing from Vermont to Hawaii. She enjoyed working in her garden, planting flowers inside and outside. She enjoyed reading, doing all kinds of puzzles, bowling, and spending time with her cats. She loved crafts, was an excellent seamstress, and even better cook, known for Gramma’s Christmas Potatoes. If there was a holiday, she was hosting it. She loved the chaos and noise. Christmas was her favorite, knowing everyone would either show up or call. She got a kick out of giving silly socks or kitschy gifts that you never knew you needed.
Kaye is survived by her daughter Becky (Bob) Shepherd and Gordon of Columbus and son Randy Moore of Brunswick, Ohio. Stepdaughters Rhonda (Roger) Kozlow of San Diego, California, and Patricia James of Saratoga Springs, New York. Grandchildren Nikki (Mike Stoner) Moore, Crystal (Tucker) Neale, Lucas (Mandy Adams) Shepherd, Paige (Carson) Reider, Alicia James, Sarah (Brad) Winkelman, and Kristofer Theodore. Great Grandchildren Tre’ Massey, Scott Shaffer, Jade Adams, Kennedi Neale, Trinidi Neale, Josie Reider and Milo Reider, Aiden Jameson and Amelia Winkelman. Great Great Grandchild Alaia Massey and a Great Great Granddaughter due in August.
Kaye was preceded in death by her husband, Josh, parents, and brother and sister in-laws, Dale and Kay Garton.
