Mark Joseph, 69, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 AM, at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Cory Burma officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  There will be a family prayer service on Friday at 10:15 AM at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Youth Ministry or Columbus Public School Foundation.

Mark was born November 26, 1953, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Gerald "Jerry" and Lorena (Von Ahsen) Joseph.  The family moved to Columbus, Nebraska, when Mark was a child.  Mark graduated from Columbus High School in 1972 and earned his associates degree at Central Community College - Platte Campus.  He was united in marriage to Sandra "Sandy" Johnston on May 27, 1977, in Columbus.  Mark was a cost accountant for Behlen Manufacturing and D & L the majority of his life.

Mark was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church where he was a member of the adult choirs.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and board games, grilling, and watching Husker sports.  He enjoyed being a member of the Eagles, maintained a close friendship with his classmates, but his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and especially his three granddaughters.
