Marilyn Rose Klug, 90, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, August 19, 2024, at her home at Meridian Gardens.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Pastor Ollie Fullmer officiating.  Private family interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, rural Columbus.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM, at the church.  Memorials may be directed to those of the family or donor's choice.

Marilyn Rose Klug was born January 5, 1934, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Frederick and Evalena (Houser) Asche.  She was baptized on April 15, 1934, and confirmed re-affirmed her Christian faith through confirmation on March 30, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Marilyn graduated from Kramer High School, and on April 12, 1953, was united in marriage to Dean M. Klug at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  Marilyn retired from GTE and later went back to work for Century 21 for a few years.  The couple moved to Kellogg, Iowa, in 1983, returning to Columbus in 1989.  Marilyn was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had served on the church council and bible study groups.  She did volunteer work at Columbus Community Hospital, was a member of many card clubs, garden clubs, and a charter member of ABWA.

Grandchildren – Alfred Ernst (great-grandchildren - Maci (Jaydyn) Blum and Jamie Ernst); Gina (Scott) Olson (great-grandchildren – Brandan and Virginia)
