Marilyn Bakenhus, 88, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at her home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27, at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Columbus, Nebraska, with Rev. William Voelker officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Friday, from 10:00 AM until service time, at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 AM on Friday, at the church. Interment will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Marilyn Beth Bakenhus was born on May 28, 1937, in Carroll, Iowa to Wendell and Lulu (Cretsinger) Emery. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School. On September 1, 1957, Marilyn was united in marriage to Robert Tolle in Coon Rapids, Iowa. On August 22, 1969, she was married to Orvis Bakenhus in Perry, Iowa.

Marilyn was a homemaker who's greatest love was her family. She especially loved sewing and had made wedding dresses and formals for her daughters as well as many veils for her granddaughters. She was always a caregiver for her family.
