Luann Waak, 57, of Columbus, Nebraska, died on April 8, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19 at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Schuyler, Nebraska, with Pastor Aaron Hannemann officiating.  Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery at approximately 1:30 PM on Friday. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Paws & Claws in Columbus.

Luann Marie Waak was born August 22, 1966, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Donald and Janet (Cassel) Waak.  The family moved back to Schuyler, Nebraska, where Luann attended school and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1984.  She began working at Behlen Manufacturing right after graduation.  Luann also worked at Godfathers Pizza for over thirty years.  She enjoyed going to garage sales, thrift stores, concerts, and trips to Las Vegas. She had a special spot in her heart for animals and had her own fur babies.

People who donate organs and tissue are blessed as they have given others a second chance at life.  Luann was a very loving and giving person, and after suffering brain death on April 8, became a donor on April 15 & 16.
