Lois was born on May 20,1936 to Alvin and Cecelia (Brockhaus) Eisenmenger. She has one brother Jim (Marilyn) Eisenmenger living in Columbus.

Lois graduated from Humphrey St. Francis in 1954 and worked at Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk. On April 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Alphonse Preister at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Humphrey where they made their home, farmed, and had a well business. Together they had nine children: Larry Preister, Bob (Jody) Preister, Janice (Chuck) Zach, Ivan Preister, Donna Olmer, Denise (Doug) Stevenson, Ron (Ronnette) Preister, Dale (Michele) Preister, Janelle Preister (Kandie Fiala).

In 1983 they moved to Ft. Morgan, Colorado, where Lois worked as a nurse's aide. They lived there until Alphonse died in 1997 then she moved to Columbus, NE. and worked as a caregiver.

On April 25, 2009 Lois was married to Allen Louis and after some time living near Petersburg, where she worked in the kitchen at the Catholic school, they made their last home together in Genoa across the street from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Lois enjoyed her various jobs caring for others, her Milk Glass/crystal collections as well as tending to her flowers and yard. She and Allen loved gathering with family and her cherry sweet rolls were a favorite at those events! They also enjoyed watching Mass together with Father Joe (St. Isidore in Columbus), going to church/community events and for drives. When Allen moved to the Veteran's Home in Norfolk, Lois would often pick him up to eat at the Granery and then go watch the geese on Skyview Lake.

Aside from her nine children, Lois was also blessed with a step-son, Wayne (Cheryl) Louis,  22 grandchildren,  30 great-grandchildren (+1 due in January), and many additional bonus grands, great grands, and great-great grands.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alphonse, son Ivan Preister, and grandson Joseph Preister.
