Obituary

Lois Osten, 80, of Creston, Nebraska, died Friday, February 7, 2025, at her home in Creston.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, at 10:30 AM, at St. John's Lutheran Church (12.5 miles north), with Rev. Paul Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be in Creston Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, stones, plants, etc., memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.   The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time.  Please accept this as your thank you, as individual thank you cards will not be sent out.  The service will be broadcast live on St. John's Lutheran Church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077208457784

Lois was born December 24, 1944, in rural Platte County, Nebraska, to Harry and Leona (Janssen) Eisenmann.  On January 14, 1945, Lois became a child of God through the waters of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska.  Lois publicly confirmed her Christian faith through confirmation on May 17, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, Nebraska.  Lois graduated from Creston High School and worked at Creston Grain and Lumber before becoming the bookkeeper for Platte Center and Creston Co-Op.  On January 21, 1967, Lois was united in marriage to Ronald Osten at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison.

Lois loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables.  She enjoyed taking care of her lawn, canning, harvesting fruit off her many fruit trees, going camping and fishing.  Lois and Ron were blessed with one son, Steven.  They enjoyed many family vacations, especially to Yellowstone, and after Ron died, Steven took his mom on many vacations throughout the United States, and some foreign travel as well.  Lois was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Brother – Ken (Janet) Eisenmann of Leigh, NE
Sister – Cheryl (Tim) McNicholas of Bozeman, MT
Sister-in-law – Ruth Eisenmann of Lincoln, NE
Sister-in-law – Joan (Verlin) Rosendahl of Creston, NE
Many nieces and nephews
