Kimberly "Kim" Michalak, 62, of Duncan, Nebraska, died Sunday, September 21, 2025, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Chaplain Mark Hartley officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and continue Thursday, from 10:00 AM until service time, all at the funeral home. Kimberly Sue Michalak was born on August 15, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska to John and Phyllis (Clary) Michalak Jr. She attended school in Omaha and began her career as a waitress in Omaha before moving to Columbus in the early 2000s. She worked at Village Inn, Applebees, and most recently, CK Bar and Grill.

Kim loved Husker football, golfing, boat rides, watching game shows and playing bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Kim enjoyed life to the fullest and always welcomed anyone into her home and life, making her "Mama" Kim to so many other people and "Grandma" to so many of her grandchildren's friends and was the most loving and caring woman around. She had a laugh anyone could hear a mile away and really enjoyed spending any time with her family no matter what they were doing.
