Judy Hinrichs, 66, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, January 30, 2026, at her home in Columbus.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 6 at 1C/The Sanctuary at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Randy Longacre officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family.
Judy was born June 6, 1959, in Sacramento, California, to Jim and Diane (Dickey) Fish. She attended school in California and in 1974 was united in marriage to Jim Scurti. She later married Brad Hinrichs in 1985. Brad and Judy moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1991 to be closer to family.
Judy followed her parents in figure skating and was a professional figure skater in her youth. She worked in hotel housekeeping and went to National Bed Making Competitions in Kansas City. Judy worked at Appleton Electric for several years, but her most treasured job was her current job working at Bright Starts Daycare. Those children were the light of her life.
Judy enjoyed shopping, dance competitions, spending time with family and especially with her great granddaughter. She enjoyed working with her daughter Amber with the Cloud 9 Celebration project. Judy loved being outdoors and the water park. She was a grandma to everyone and welcomed you with her lovely smile and embraced you with a warm loving hug.

Daughter – Amber (Kevin) Stary of Columbus, NE
Grandchildren – Kaedyn (Aleyna) Stary, Katie (Anthony) Stathos, Nathan Scurti, Savannah Gardner and Sophia Gardner
Great Grandchild – Adelaide Stary
Brother – Jim (Anita) Fish Jr. of Kansas City, MO
Brother-in-law – Rich Rowland of Marysville, CA

Sister – Denise Rowland
