Judd Thomas Went, 36, of Columbus, Nebraska went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2026 at his farm north of Columbus.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church rural Columbus, with Pastor William Voelker officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church and continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, stones, etc., memorials are suggested to the Went Family Children for their future, or donor’s choice.

Judd Went was born on January 17, 1990 to Ryan and Jan (Rodehorst) Went in Columbus, Nebraska. He attended school at Clearview Elementary and Platte Center Elementary and then graduated in 2008 from Lakeview High School. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus. He is currently a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

While attending high school, Judd was an active member of FFA, serving as Sentinel for two years, FBLA, football and track. Judd had the honor of playing in the Shrine Bowl, and was a medalist in shot put at state track. Judd won the 2007 Agri-Entrepreneurship award, a national honor for his business, Judd’s Lean Lamb. Judd had also signed a letter of intent to walk on for the Nebraska Husker Football team. He was a member of the Northern Lites 4-H club for many years. He enjoyed showing cattle and spending time at the Platte County Fair. Judd was respected and well liked among his peers and was nominated as a class of 2008 Homecoming candidate. In the fall of 2026, Judd will be inducted into the Lakeview Athletic Hall of Fame.

Judd was united into marriage to Alyssa Hambleton on October 21, 2017, spending their 8 ½ years of marriage together raising their three children, Berkley Anne (7 years), Braylynn Rae (5 years), and Bronx Ron (4 years) on their farm north of Columbus. As a couple they enjoyed spending their time walking through the baby goats and picking them out for their sale. They loved being together and planning for their future. Their whole world revolved around their children. Judd and Alyssa worked hard to immerse them into the livestock industry teaching them how to work hard for their success. Judd lived his life for his kids and took every chance he could to celebrate their success and share it with everyone he could. Some of his most treasured moments with his children included spending time in the barn, singing and dancing with them, and checking cows in the pasture which aways led to picking flowers for the girls. Whether it was a big or a small job, Judd wanted his kids by his side every chance he got. He took a lot of pride in watching his children show their livestock and working beside him. He was their biggest cheerleader.

Judd grew up raising livestock with his dad and that turned into a lifelong passion for raising sheep, cattle, and goats. Alongside his wife, they built Went Show Goats from the ground up growing it into a nationwide business serving 4-H and FFA kids across the country. Judd found great joy in helping young people with their goats and encouraging them to reach their goals. Whether it was phone calls or making customer visits to their farms, Judd always wanted to make sure his customers were well taken care of and that they were set up for success. He was very well respected in the livestock industry and anyone who knew him, loved him. Judd would be the first one to attribute his success to his wife, Alyssa, his father, Ryan, his father-in-law, Kent, and those who worked alongside of him. He always made sure everyone felt appreciated and loved. He leaves his legacy to his wife, Alyssa, daughters, Berkley and Braylynn, and son, Bronx.

Judd is survived by his beloved wife, Alyssa Kay (Hambleton) Went, daughters Berkley & Braylynn Went, and son Bronx Went of Columbus. Parents Ryan and Jan (Rodehorst) Went of Columbus; siblings Jenna (Aaron) Schaben of Omaha, Jordan (Wes) Wetovick of Fullerton; grandmother Rae Ann Went of Columbus; father and mother-in-law Kent and Kathy Hambleton of Leigh; sister-in-law Abbie (Spencer) Smith of Polk; brother-in-law Cody (Taylor) Hambleton of Battle Creek; sister-in-law Taya Hambleton of Leigh; grandmother-in-law Anne Peterson of Genoa; nephews Madden, Linden, and Roman Schaben, Hayes Wetovick, and Beckham Hambleton; nieces Aspen Hambleton, Harlow Wetovick, and Sutton and Saige Smith and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Judd was met in heaven by his infant twins; Grandfather, Ronald Went, Grandfather, Lorenz Rodehorst, Grandmother, Lois Rodehorst, and Grandfather-in-law Curtis Peterson.
