John Lehr, 91, of Duncan, Nebraska, died Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home in Duncan.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 10:30 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating.  Interment will be in Jackson Cemetery in Duncan.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Thursday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  There will be a family prayer service on Thursday at 10:15 AM at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the donors choice of Cancer Foundations.

John Lehr was born June 12, 1934, in Columbus, Nebraska, to George and Leona (Loseke) Lehr.  He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a life member.  John graduated from Duncan High School and on September 7, 1955, was united in marriage to Mary Ann Speck.

John was a lifetime Platte County cattle farmer.  He enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and was a avid Husker sports fan.  He played basketball as a youth, would write poetry and would include a special poem inside his homemade Valentine card he would give his wife every year.  Outside of family, John's love was the farm and his cattle.

Sister-in-law – Sharon Lehr of Oldsmar, FL
