John Boswell, 63, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, September 6, 2025, at his home in Columbus.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, September 11 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home.  Private family interment.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

John Lloyd Boswell was born on June 18, 1962, to Ronald and Marilyn (Younker) Boswell in Omaha, Nebraska.  John graduated from Schuyler High School in 1980.  On August 25, 1985 John was united in marriage to Sandra Beckius at the City park in Schuyler, Nebraska.  To this union 8 children were born.

John worked for 22 years at Cargill, then for approximately 10 years at Trigard in Columbus, and for shorter periods of time at Henningsen Foods and security for St. Moritz at Cargill.

John enjoyed golf, frisbee golf, karaoke, the game Bejewel Blitz, horse racing, being out in nature, bird watching, and Nebraska Football.  He enjoyed activities with his kids, like playing video games like Pac-Man, Mario Kart, and Guitar Hero, playing hide-and-go seek, king of the mountain, Scrabble, chess, and card games.  John never shied away from a good snowball fight or standing outside watching severe weather.  He was always quick with a joke to brighten your day and worked hard to make sure his family was taken care of and supported.  He was the light in the lives of many with his laid back and positive attitude.

John loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
