Joan Bailey, 78, of Stromsburg, Nebraska, died Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 26, at Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Jim Kappers officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 9:30 AM until service time, also at the church. Interment will be in Columbus Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Evangelical Free Church in Stromsburg.

Joan Marguerite Bailey was born on October 17, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Joseph and Ellanor (Blume) Stewart. She grew up and graduated from high school and attended college in St. Louis. Through the years, she worked at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, at Ashby House in Salina, Kansas, for Boy Scouts of America, and as an aide in nursing homes for many years. Joan was united in marriage to Eldon Bailey on April 6, 2007 in Geneva, Nebraska. The couple lived in Salina, Kansas before moving to Stromsburg in 2013. Joan enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, canning, cooking, watching Westerns, playing games on her computer, and she really loved her dogs.
