Jennie Jacobs, 79, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Monday, December 29, at Gass Haney Funeral Home, with Rev. Adam Lassen officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and continue Monday, from 9:00 AM until service time, all at the funeral home. Interment will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, in the Clarks Cemetery in Clarks, Nebraska. Jennie Rose Jacobs was born on July 23, 1946, in Clarks, to Leonard and Marie (Steinke) Pierce. She graduated from Clarks Public School in 1964 and then moved to Columbus. She worked at Y-Knot Café, Modern Cleaners and Becton Dickinson. On August 16, 1969, Jennie was united in marriage to Wayne Jacobs in Columbus. She went to work at Dale Electronics in May of 1972 and worked there until her retirement in 2007.

Jennie was a kind, caring and thoughtful person with her memorable smile and laugh, that loved her family very much. She was known for her ability to remember family and friends' birthdays and holidays and was always sending cards with scratch off tickets or unique gifts.

Jennie loved Elvis Presley, Dr. Pepper in an ice-filled glass, ice cream, watching the Game Show Channel, and playing cards.

The family wants to thank Brookestone Acres for the excellent care they provided for our mom, and have become family to us, and St. Croix Hospice for their care during her final days.  We couldn't have asked for more caring people to take care of our mom.
