Jeanie Henke, 82, of Creston, Nebraska, died Friday, October 24, 2025, at her home in Creston.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 29 at 10:30 AM, at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Columbus with Rev. William Voelker officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church.  There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 AM at the church.  Memorials are suggested to those of the donor or family choice.

Jeanie was born July 27, 1943, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to Jesse and Ruth (Behmer) Follette.  She graduated from Newman Grove High School and moved to Columbus where she began working at the Columbus Community Hospital.  Jeanie was united in marriage to Duane "Bud" Henke on September 29, 1963, at the Methodist Church in Newman Grove.  They made their home on a farm north of Columbus before moving to Creston in 1991.  Jeanie retired from the Columbus Community Hospital in 2018 after 57 years of employment.  She also worked part-time at the Cedar Inn in Creston.  Jeanie loved helping people, enjoyed working in the garden, baking, canning, going for walks, but her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
