Jim was born October 1, 1942, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Bernard J and Theresa M (Borer) Wiese.
He attended Holy Family School and enlisted in the United States Army from November 18, 1960 and was honorably discharged on November 3, 1962.  Upon his discharge, Jim returned to Lindsay to farm.  On January 13, 1968, Jim was united in marriage to Karen Hemmer at Holy Family Church.  To this union six children were born.

Jim farmed the fields near Lindsay, devoting his life to the land, his livestock and the honest work he loved. Sunup to sundown, he was a hardworking man, known for his steady hands, quiet determination and taking deep pride in every acre he brought to life.  Whether tending for his animals or fixing what was worn and weary, Jim could fix nearly anything, approaching every challenge with calm ingenuity and a mind always reaching for a better tomorrow.  His innovative spirit guided his farm forward, always with an eye toward building something stronger for the next generation.

Jim carried a deep sense of patriotism and gratitude for the opportunities this country provided, and he worked each day believing his efforts contributed to something meaningful. Grounded in his faith, Jim lived with purpose, humility, and appreciation for the life he was given.  Jim also shared an extraordinary marriage of 58 years (21,197 days) without a single day spent apart. The devotion he and his wife showed to one another was a testament to love, partnership, and unwavering commitment.

Jim was known for his quick wit and unmistakable sense of humor, bringing laughter to long days and lightening the load for those around him. Above all, Jim treasured his kids and grandkids, who were his pride and joy and the heart of his legacy.  His memory lives on in the values he passed down and the love he shared with all who knew him.

Jim was a member of the Holy Family School Board, Knights of Columbus and a Parish Trustee.
