James Vol Parsley, 90, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
No visitation or services are planned.
James Vol Parsley was born on July 23, 1933, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Vol and Laura Jean (Johnson) Parsley. He attended school in Springdale, Arkansas and graduated from Wichita High School East in 1952, in Wichita, Kansas. James was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Powers in October of 1953 and they were blessed with three children: Kim, Scott, and Kerri. After Barbara Jean and Scott's death in an auto accident, May 1969, James married Laurel Ann Rystrom on April 30, 1971.
James worked in sheet metal construction and later as an electronic engineer and draftsmen. He enjoyed woodworking, teaching Bible class, and preparing sermons for his role in the Church of Christ.
James' family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Brookestone Acres and St. Croix hospice for their care for James in the last few months.
James is survived by:
