Geraldine Agnes Brabec, 88, of Clarkson, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at CHI Health-St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska with her children by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson with Fr. Daniel Wittrock celebrating the Mass.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 5:00 PM at the church.  Visitation will continue Monday from 9:30 AM until Mass time, also at the church.

Geraldine was born on August 10, 1936, in Leigh, Nebraska, to Gerald and Agnes (Schlueter) Houfek. She grew up in Clarkson where she graduated from Clarkson High School in 1953. Geraldine worked for the Colfax County Courthouse, Karel's Grocery Store, and her most loved jobs of farm wife and Mom.

Geraldine was united in marriage to Ernest Brabec on February 7, 1956, at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson where she was a member and a member of the Altar Society where she held various roles. She also served her parish community by volunteering to serve funeral lunches where she became well known for her "jello cake". Geraldine helped her husband on the farm and enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning.
