Gary Trofholz, 74, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home in Columbus.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Ollie Fullmer officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Monday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service at the church on Monday at 10:15 AM. Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Gary E. Trofholz was born on July 31, 1950, in Columbus, to Lawrence and Geraldine (Welch) Trofholz. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1968. On February 13, 1971, Gary was united in marriage to Sharon Pavel at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Gary worked in the heating and air industry for many years before going to work at NPPD until his retirement.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports, especially playing softball. He was a jack of all trades who loved to work with his hands and loved spending time with his family at the cabin that he built at Duncan Lakes.

Grandchildren: Caleb, Logan, & Brooklyn Voichahoske
Sister: Colleen (Randy) Dodds of Belgrade, NE
Sister-in-law: Trish Trofholz of Omaha, NE
