Obituary

Gary "Mike" Bayer, 77, of Marysville, Kansas, died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Cambridge Place Nursing Home in Marysville.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus, Nebraska and will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Leigh. The funeral service will be broadcast live on the Gass Haney Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Marysville or to Lutheran Bible Translators.

Gary Michael Bayer was born on January 19, 1945, in St. Louis County, Missouri, to Carl and Frances (Bosau) Bayer. He attended school in St. Louis and graduated from Richmar High School in 1962. On March 26, 1994, Mike was united in marriage to Roxanne Kudrna at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Louis. Through the years, Mike held various jobs, but the ones that he enjoyed the most were fundraising for various Lutheran organizations and the years that he was a stay at home dad for April while she was growing up. He was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville.

Sister-in-law: Paulette Comer of Colorado Springs, CO
