Garret "Gary" John Peruski, age 62, of Columbus, Nebraska (previously of Ubly, Michigan) died Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at his home.

Gary was born January 22, 1962 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Evelyn (Heleski) Peruski and the late John S. Peruski. He graduated from Ubly High School in 1980.

Gary ended his career at Valmont Industries. He was an avid sports fan, and especially loved the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and sitting around a table playing cards and telling stories. He could tell stories with the best of them. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren, and the rest of his family.

Gary is survived by his mother, Evelyn Peruski; his children, Ryan (Renee) Peruski of Clarkston, Stephanie (Andrew) Hebberd of North Branch, and Chelsie Peruski of Cass City; his grandchildren, Claire, Grace, and Thomas Peruski, Blake, Evelyn, and Stanley Hebberd; his siblings, Cheryl (David) Coenen, Donna (Daniel) Bukoski, John N. Peruski, Elaine (Duane) Dropiewski; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Peruski and niece, Jeni Keding.

Nebraska – There will a public celebration of life at the Big 10 Sports Bar & Grill in Columbus, Nebraska on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.

Michigan - There will be a private service for immediate family followed by a public celebration of life at the Ubly Fox Hunter's Club from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, October 25, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and cards for the family may be sent to Chelsie Peruski at 4847 Spruce Street, Cass City, Michigan 48726.
