Evelyn Areta Schreiber Harral, 88 of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, February 11, 2022, at Emerald Care & Rehab in Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on February 25, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Brandon Foster officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 AM on Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, plants or stones, the family request memorials be made to the family for later designation.

Evelyn Areta Harral was born June 3, 1933, in Columbus, to Walter and Marcia (Everson-Smith) Schreiber. She received her education at Kramer High School and graduated in 1950. Evelyn married C.L. Rick Harral on June 11, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran church.

Evelyn sold life insurance and worked with her from 79-90 she became the secretary to the principal of Scotus Central Catholic. In 1991, she became employed at Nebraska Public Power District, retiring in 2002. Evelyn also had a secretarial business in her home which she enjoyed very much.

Evelyn was a very active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, credited for organizing Platte #1834 "Columbus" Auxiliary in, August of 1961. She served as President for two terms, serving as an officer for 40 years and secretary for 29 years. Evelyn served as Nebraska State President in 1971. She also was elected to three offices in the Grand Auxiliary, Trustee, Treasurer and Secretary 1974-77. She was named Grand Auxiliary Mother, and the award she was most proud of award was the "Grand Auxiliary Hall of Fame Award". She enjoyed history and published five history books of the Nebraska Eagles State Aerie and Auxiliary. Starting in 1974 thru 2018. In 2015, she was named the Nebraska State Historian. Evelyn was a big Husker Fan! She loved her Football and Volleyball. The early years of Rick's and her marriage they did have season football tickets.

Evelyn is survived by daughter, Cheri (Todd) Bollig of Columbus; daughter-in-law Janice Harral of Apache Junction, Arizona; son Jerry (Cathy) of San Juan Capistrona, California; step son Rick (Linda) Harral of Lincoln; grandson Jeremiah (Lynette) Bollig and their daughters, Jayden and Myah of Shelby; Cody (Andrea) Bollig, and their sons, Michael, Ethan and Liam and daughter Charlotte of Omaha; granddaughter Amber (Nathan) Ladehoff and daughter Payton and son Asher of Omaha; grandson, Lucas (Shadi) Harral and sons Adison, Kai and Shea of Laguna Nigual, California; grandson Travis Harral of Laguna Nigual, California; step grandson Kyle (Ashley Mares) Harral, and daughter Kealin and son Kathan of Lincoln; and step granddaughter Joelle White, of Lincoln, brother Ronald Schreiber, Casselberry, Florida;

She was preceded in death by husband, C. L. Rick Harral on January 26, 1990, Grandparents, Coit and Eva Everson, Parents Walter and Marcia Schreiber; son, Terry Harral; sister-in-law, Shirley Schreiber; nephew, Dale Schreiber.
