Epigmenio Castillo Hernandez, 89, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Father Jairo Enrique Congote celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, also at the church. Immediately following Mass there will be a gathering and supper from 9:00 - 11:00 PM at the Columbus Housing Authority (2554 40th Avenue, Columbus, NE). Interment will be in Michoacan, Mexico at a later date.

Epigmenio Castillo Hernandez was born on March 24, 1933, in Matugeo, Michoacan, Mexico to ReFujio and Margarita (Hernandez) Castillo. In 1959 he was united in marriage to Antonia Tovar in Matugeo. Epigmenio worked as a farmer in Mexico. The couple moved to Nebraska in 1994, where he worked at Cargill Meat Solutions. Epigmenio loved dancing, listening to music, and being surrounded by his loved ones. He was always happy and had a smile on his face.
