Edward David "Dave" Jenkinson, 69, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, December 1, 2023, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 10:30 AM,, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and continue Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested as those of family or donor's choice.

Edward David "Dave" Jenkinson was born October 5, 1954, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Edward and Eva (Taylor) Jenkinson.  He grew up on a farm near Monroe, Nebraska, attended Platte County District 20 grade school, Monroe grade school, and graduated from Monroe High School in 1973.  On May 26, 1973, Dave was united in marriage to Christine Schmid at the Monroe United Methodist Church.  Dave went on to attend Kearney State College to become a teacher and coach but moved back to Monroe to take over the family farm.

Dave farmed the majority of his life.  He drove a school bus for Monroe for 24 years and worked at Gerhold Concrete for 20 years.  He enjoyed watching the Husker football games, loved to farm, attending and participating in drag races, and spending time with family and friends.

Friend – Valerie Preister of Columbus, NE
