Donald Walton, 86, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home in Columbus.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 1130 AM at Gass Haney Funeral Home.  At the conclusion of the visitation a graveside service, with military honors provided by American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard, will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus.

Donald Ray Walton was born on May 22, 1939, in Spencer, Iowa to Gerald Lee and Leona (Foster) Walton.  Don attended school in Bellwood, Nebraska.  Don entered the United States Army in 1956.

In 1975 Don was United in marriage to Ruth Kammerer in Joplin, Missouri.  Don spent the majority of his working career at Columbus Metal Industries (CMI).  After retiring from CMI Don worked as a greeter and stocker at Wal-Mart in Columbus, NE.

Don enjoyed collecting coins, antiques, and finding "junk" that he thought might be valuable.
