Donald L. Sharman, age 80, of Lodgepole, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Per Don's wishes he was cremated and no public services will be held.

Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC, in Sidney, Nebraska, is in charge of arrangements. His family has requested memorials be sent to Night of Hope Foundation, PO Box 700, Sidney, NE 69162.

Don L. Sharman was born April 22, 1944, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Verne and Lillian (Badziong) Sharman.  He was baptized and confirmed his Christian faith through confirmation at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sidney.  Don attended District 39 Grade School and graduated from Sidney High School.  On August 6, 1966, Don married was united in marriage to Cindy Oliverius at St Paul's Lutheran Church.  Don lived his entire life in Cheyenne County. He farmed/ranched west of Lodgepole, Nebraska.  Don loved working with the cattle and spending long hours on the tractor. He was not afraid of hard work as well as his willingness to help his neighbors. He enjoyed riding motor bikes and climbing mountains in jeeps. Don cherished his family with his whole heart. He could be seen at his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Don is survived by his wife Cindy Sharman of Lodgepole, NE; Son - Darrell Sharman of Lodgepole, NE; Grandson – Trace Sharman (Anna McLauglin) of Sidney, NE; Great-Grandson Kaizer Sharman and Myles Heeren; Granddaughter – Dawson Sharman of Lodgepole, NE; Daughter - Angel Sharman of Casper, WY; Brothers - Lyle Sharman and Gary (Jean) Sharman of Columbus, NE; Sisters – Peggy (Maynard) Holtorf of Hordville, NE and Marlene (Don) Wiechman of West Point, NE. With several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Verne and Lillian Sharman.
