Delores Meyer, age 94, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on January 28, 2025. She was born on March 19, 1930, in Leigh, Nebraska, to Arthur and Lydia Mackenstadt.

Delores was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joys in life were her children; Lana, Joni (Denny), DJ (Lisa), and Dave; grandchildren, Nick, Marissa, Kelly, Christa, Alex, and Lydia. She cherished the time spent with her family and leaves behind a legacy of great memories.

Delores was also a dedicated nurse and leader, often serving as the charge nurse on her many shifts. She went to nursing school at age 50, graduating with a 4.0 GPA while working full time and retired nearly 30 years later.

Her family was awarded the Nebraska Pioneer Farming Award in 1985 in recognition of farming the same plot of land for over 100 years.

Delores will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (alzfdn.org).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, Nebraska, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Wednesday (just prior to the service) at the church.
