December 11, 1959 – October 22, 2023
David Veburg, 63, died on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, at First English Lutheran Church (840 Butler Street) in Rising City, Nebraska. A memorial service will be on Saturday, November 4, at 10:00 AM, also at the church. Following the service, interment will be in the Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery (315 Park Lane) in Hordville, Nebraska. Immediately following the interment, a lunch will be served at the Fridhem Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to the First English Lutheran Church, the Fridhem Lutheran Church, or the Lymphoma Society.
David Edward Veburg was born on December 11, 1959, in San Pablo, California, to John and Mildred (Nyberg) Veburg. The family moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1974 and David was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus in 1975. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1978 and then graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree with distinction in Diesel Technology from Southeast Community College in 1981. Through the years, he worked as a diesel technician at Shupe Brothers, D & D Repair, Blue River Repair, and Sahling Kenworth, until he retired in 2020.
David married Lynne Wurst in 1982 and they had three children. He was a member and former council member of the First English Lutheran Church in Rising City and also was a Village of Surprise town board member and Rising City Volunteer Fire Department member for many years. David enjoyed collecting antique firearms, model railroading, and traveling.
David is survived by:
