Dale Kurpgeweit, 77, of Leigh, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at his home in Leigh.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 10:30 AM, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, with Rev. Dr. Marsha Jark-Swain officiating.  Interment will be in the parish cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Saturday from 9:30 AM until service time at the church. The family prayer service will be at 10:15 AM on Saturday at the church. Memorials are those of family choice.

Dale Allen Kurpgeweit was born on July 14, 1946, on the family farm in Platte County, Nebraska, to Otto and Clara (Brock) Kurpgeweit. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He attended grade school at District 43 and then Leigh High School until the death of his father in 1963. On June 2, 1967, Dale was united in marriage to Sheryl Weber at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Creston, Nebraska.

Dale farmed for many years raising cattle and hogs and running a dairy, while also working other jobs. He worked as a milk truck driver and later as a sanitation truck driver.  He loved polka music and dancing. Dale was most proud of his large family and greatly enjoyed time spent with them.
