Obituary

Cody Logan Dale Linder, 32, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Bryan Health East Campus in Lincoln.

To honor Cody’s zest for life and sharing the joy of life, a Celebration of Life will be hosted at the Quail Run Golf course on Friday, June 5, 1:00-4:00 with a brief blessing service at 1:30. Cody requested that donations be provided to a Children’s Hospital of your choosing. The family requests no flowers or plants to honor Cody’s request. The family wishes to thank all those at UNMC and Bryan Hospital for their compassionate care during his cancer battle.

Cody was born on September 8, 1993, in Columbus, Nebraska and is the beloved son of his mother DaMaris (Mitzie) and stepfather Kim Walden, and his father, Larry and stepmother, Joyce Linder. Cody had a kind and gentle heart and was Uncle Cody to all his nieces and nephews and children of his friends. Cody had a passion for golf, loved Husker sports, his music and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He touched the hearts of many with his quick wit, no-nonsense talk, his infectious smile, quiet strength and strong sense of loyalty to his friends and family.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 2012 and Northeast Community College with an Associate Degree of Applied Sciences in Utility Line in 2016. He went on to build a career as an electrical lineman and was currently employed as a Planner/Scheduler with Nebraska Public Power District (Plattsmouth, NE). Cody had also worked as a lineman with Loup Public Power District (Columbus, Nebraska), McCook Public Power District (McCook, Nebraska), Nebraska Public Power District (Kearney, Nebraska) and Lincoln Electric System (Lincoln, NE). Cody was proud to have earned his journeyman’s certification in 2020. Cody displayed his love of being a lineman with passion and determination, and loved and respected the linemen he worked with, considering each to be a brother and each other’s keeper.

He relied on his deep faith and his belief in God to guide and carry him in his life, never losing faith through his battle with cancer. His short and remarkable life will forever be an inspiration to those who he touched, a testament to the power of an indomitable spirit enthused by ever changing interests.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his parents and surviving siblings: Matt (Trisha) Linder, Shane Brown, Mikayla (Ryan) Baldwin, Kirk (Heidi) Carpenter, and Michelle (Grant) Aden as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cody is preceded in death by brother Shaun Brown and grandparents Lyle and Dolores Lower, Mel and Rojane Linder, and Richard Spencer.
