Cindy Schaf

Cindy A. Schaf, 69, of Columbus, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska, surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life and lunch will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 12:30 AM in the Great Room at Brookstone Acres, 4715 38th St., Columbus, Nebraska.

Cindy Schaf was born February 16, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska to Gerald and Ruth (Eckerman) Pape. Cindy grew up in Omaha, Wichita, Kansas, and Leigh, Nebraska. Cindy graduated from Leigh High School in 1975. On August 2, 1975, Cindy was united in marriage to LaVerne Schaf. Cindy was blessed with three children, April, Sabrina, and Justin.

Cindy was primarily a homemaker. Cindy enjoyed collecting many things, especially coins, stamps, and spoons. She enjoyed playing games and was also a published poet. Christmas was her favorite holiday, she loved making people happy, jokes, and being the center of attention. Cindy had a deep love for her dogs, and an even greater love for her grandchildren.

Grandsons – Dennis (Mavi) and Darren (Emma)
Daughter – Sabrina Utter (Ryan) of Columbus, NE 
Grandchildren – DeAudra, Tiana, Josie, Kendra, and Eli 
Son – Justin Schaf of Columbus, NE 
Grandson – Zain 
Brother – Scott 
Sister – Linda 
Several Nieces and Nephews
