Christopher Scott Henry, 57, passed away at his residence in Columbus, Nebraska, on September 13th, 2024.
Born on January 18th, 1967, in Amarillo, Texas, to Carol Lynn Dodd and Edward Henry, Chris was the eldest of three siblings. He quickly learned the importance of caring for others, a trait he carried into his career as a paramedic in Dallas, Texas.
Chris moved to Columbus, Nebraska, in the early 2000s to be closer to his mom. Quickly, he made friends and Columbus became his new home. He was a hard worker who enjoyed his career, completing 12 years at Becton Dickinson in Columbus.
Chris' passion for sports, was known to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed tuning in to Dallas, Texas, sports teams like the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers. From playing on community basketball teams as a child to working as a referee, and cheering on the Cowboys during Thursday, Sunday or Monday Night Football, he always found a way to be part of the game.
Chris had an infectious smile that could light up any room and easy-going personality that touched everyone he met, making him a beloved friend and family member.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents: Carol Lynn Dodd and Edward Henry; aunt: Claudette Thomsen; uncle: Alvin Loghry; nephew: Jameson Prock; and step-father: Jimmy Dodd.
Chris is survived by his loving partner Martina Chavez, his children, Amanda and Jeremy Cobb, Brianna Henry, and Olivya Thege; grandchildren Bryson and Corbin Cassidy; brothers Shaun Henry, and Shannon Prock, as well as many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who will cherish memories of him forever.
There will be a private family celebration of his life at a later date.
