Christopher J. Gronenthal, 60, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Columbus Community Hospital.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Gass Haney Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and continue Monday from 1:00 PM until service time, all at the funeral home.  Private family interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Humphrey.  Memorials are suggested as those of the donor or family choice.

Christopher J. Gronenthal was born November 22, 1965, in Norfolk, Nebraska, to William and Carolyn (Trybus) Gronenthal.  He attended Humphrey High School. Chris drove truck for Koch Trucking for several years before going to work for Selden Trucking out of Shelby for the last three years.

Chris enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially on his trips to Sturgis, South Dakota.  He could make friends with anyone and once a friend, always a friend.  Chris enjoyed taking his two grandsons Christmas shopping and would tell them to "fill the cart with whatever you want."   Family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with them.
