Cheryl L. Hoffbauer, 70, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at her home in Columbus.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 11:00 AM at Highland Park Church in Columbus with Pastor Mike  Escen officiating.  Private family interment will be in Fullerton Cemetery, Fullerton, Nebraska, at a later date.  The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the church.    Please join the family at a lunch in the church fellowship hall after the service to continue to celebrate Cheryl's life.  The service will be broadcast live on Gass Haney Funeral Home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057043736890

Cheryl was born on September 28, 1954, in Fullerton, Nebraska to Burch & Doris (Sonderup) Fenstemaker. Cheryl grew up and attended school in Fullerton with her two sisters Connie and Christy, graduating from Fullerton High School and going on to earn a certificate in floral design.

Cheryl worked in the deli department at Food-4-Less for 12 years and then at Holiday Inn Express for 14 years as a breakfast attendant. Cheryl met Richard Hoffbauer in 2009 and the two were married September 10, 2011, at Highland Park Church, and resided in Columbus since.
