Charles "Chuck" Ferris, 86, of Monroe, Nebraska, died Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 30, at the United Methodist Church in Genoa, Nebraska with Pastor Connie Kramer officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and will continue Tuesday, from 9:30 AM until service time, all at the church. Interment with military honors will be in Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department.

Charles A. Ferris was born on November 9, 1936, in Silver Creek, Nebraska, to Clarence and Edna (Hinkle) Ferris. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until his honorable discharge in 1957. Chuck attended auto body school in Omaha and then owned and operated H & F Body Shop in Genoa from 1963 – 2006.

Chuck was very active in the community; serving as a member of the Genoa American Legion Post 144, Genoa Fire Department, Genoa Lions Club, and the Genoa Airport Authority. Chuck was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting with his son, grandkids, and great grandkids. He also enjoyed Nebraska football and a winner at gambling who rarely brought any money home.

Granddaughter: Allie (Eric) Schwager of Burwell, NE
Grandson: Doug (Amanda) Salak of Omaha, NE
Grandson: Derek (Melissa) Salak of Columbus, NE
